It's been nearly a decade since Collierville High School has formed a girls' bowling team, and the team got the monkey off their back with a dominating 20-7 win over Arlington on Wednesday afternoon at their home lanes of 901 Bowl.
Lena Woodcock had the high game in American 10-pin game 1 with a 138 that was a 35-pin margin over Arlington standout Hannah Buda. Aviana Pompa, Brooklyn Spicer, Aditi Nair, and Gillian Arey also picked up wins for the Lady Dragons.
Nair continues to show tremendous athleticism with an impressive 139 in the American 10-pin round 2. She defeated Buda by a margin of 38 pins. Woodcock also prevailed in her game 2, 107-97, over the Tigers' Abbie Ahlbrandt.
Collierville swept Arlington in both Baker Rounds and also received the three point bonus with an overall 47 total pin margin.
Collierville (1-2) will take the Thanksgiving week off before returning for a highly anticipated mid-week series versus the Houston Mustangs on November 29 and November 30. Match times are set for 3:30pm.
