For the fourth time in four tries in 2023, the Collierville High School volleyball team defeated Houston after a thrilling five-set victory over the Mustangs Tuesday night to claim the Regional Championship inside My Town Movers Fieldhouse.
If the saying "A sign of a good team is a team that can come from behind" is true, then Collierville Volleyball checks the box. The Dragons were down 2-0 before their much needed rally to win the final three sets behind the charge from All Region selections Maeve Allen and Chase Burdette, alongside Villanova commit and MVP Campbell McKinnon.
There is no debate if Collierville Volleyball (35-5) is good - as the defending State Runners-Up are determined to position themselves for another opportunity at a state title. The next step will not be an easy task as the Dragons welcome Rossview on Thursday night for a 7pm Sectional Championship game. That winner will punch their ticket to next week's TSSAA State Championships in Murfreesboro.
