The Collierville High School softball team advanced in the winner's bracket of the District 15-AAAA tournament on Thursday with a 7-6 when versus host Houston High.

Delta State University signee, Kenzie Guess hammered a pitch to left center field in the bottom of 7th that scored Molly Davis and sealed the win for the Dragons.

Houston got on the scoreboard first with a run in the opening frame, but the potent Dragons offense put up a 4 spot in the bottom of the 2nd to take a 4-1 lead. Houston would later rally for a pair of runs in the 3rd and 4th innings to take a 5-4 lead. The Mustangs added insurance with another run in the top half of inning 5. Collierville answered with one of their own and the Mustangs lead was again trimmed.

Collierville's fireworks then went off in the bottom of the 7th. Emma Wolfe led off with a base on balls after a full count. Davis singled and a sacrifice bunt by Carli Crisp moved both runners into scoring position. Sara Depperman reached on a fielder' error that scored Wolfe and tied the game 6-6. Guess then delivered the final shot.

Collierville (25-4) will now face Arlington, Friday, 5pm at Houston for a chance to punch their ticket to next week's Regional Tournament.

Houston (15-10) faces Bartlett, 7pm, in the loser's bracket. The tournament is double elimination.
