The Dragons end the season with a 37-9 record after advancing to the State Championship for the first time in eighteen years. The season was magical with a regular season district title, district tournament championship, regional championship and sectional championship on their resume. State runner-up is certainly something the team should be proud of.
Cleveland was strong throughout the match and the Dragons certainly competed. Collierville fell in a close set one, 25-21. The Dragons were unable to make their traditional comeback in set two and three and fell, 25-14 and 25-20.
The Dragons were led by four seniors: Abbi Peterson, Jenny Holtman, Kylee Lapham and Mary Addisyn Stubbs. A strong nucleus returns for Coach Lindsey Vicknair's squad. It is certain the Dragons will be poised to make another run at a state title in 2023.
