Collierville Volleyball took down state perennial power Brentwood, 3-1, at the TSSAA State Tournament on Wednesday. It was the second win over the Bruins for the Dragons this season. The second had a sweeter taste. Collierville (36-8) stays in the winner's bracket and will square off with Cleveland on Thursday at 2:30pm. That winner will play for the state championship on Friday.

In the first set, the Dragons weathered a strong comeback by the Bruins to come out with a 26-24 win.

Collierville and Brentwood were pretty much even throughout set two, but the Dragons would take a 2-0 lead after a strong finish with a 25-20 victory.

Brentwood stayed alive by winning set 3, 25-19.

It was once again a strong start for Collierville that gave the Dragons a quick 5-1 lead in set 4. After a Brentwood timeout, the Bruins made another comeback and evened the set at 14. From there, it was a back-and-forth battle but Collierville's Jenny Holtman continued to set the Dragons attack and Abbi Peterson had the final say with a kill to give the Dragons the 25-23 set victory for the 3-1 win.

Look for continued high powered offense and a determined defense for this Dragons Volleyball team as they have their sight on a state title. The team plays as a unit. Stay tuned.
