Featuring most of the best big-school teams in Alabama, the young and talented Collierville High School volleyball team competed each match of the 40th annual Juanita Boddie Tournament held over the weekend at Hoover's Finley Center. Being dealt with one of the more strongest schedules of the tournament field, Collierville finished play going 3-3 and returned home with an overall 4-3 record to start the 2022 campaign.

On Friday evening, Collierville took on Alabama's No. 8 ranked team Sparkman Senators and fell in a tight match 23-25, 25-27. The Dragons also came up short in the second match Friday night versus Montgomery Catholic by falling 19-25, 19-25.

Saturday was a day to rebound for Collierville Volleyball and they responded from the get go. The Dragons defeated New Hope (25-23, 25-14), and Ft. Payne (23-25, 25-15, 15-13) to finish 2-2 in bracket play.

Advancing to the Silver Bracket, Collierville opened with a dominating win over Ramsay (25-14, 25-14) before suffering a heartbreaker to traditional Alabama power Pelham (27-29, 27-29).

Collierville Volleyball will now set their focus to get win No. 5 at St. Agnes on Tuesday at 6pm.
