The old sayin' "When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going" would apply to the Collierville High School Volleyball Team. The team traveled to Franklin over the weekend to compete in the Battle of the Border Invitational. The draw in pool play consisted of teams that they commonly see at the TSSAA State Tournament: Maryville, Ravenwood, and Brentwood - with perennial Alabama Powerhouse, Mountain Brook, in the mix. The Lady Dragons dropped all three of their matches against the Tennessee teams on Friday.

On Saturday at 9am, Collierville got back on the winning track by defeating Mountain Brook, 2-0. The fun would then start in bracket play. The Lady Dragons would go on to win three more Saturday with wins over Father Ryan, Knoxville Catholic, and again Mountain Brook to advance to the tournament's championship versus Brentwood. They would eventually fall, 2-1, to the Bruins but left the tournament knowing they overcame a significant challenge.

Collierville (22-6) will be back in action on Thursday when they host Houston (Germantown, TN) inside the MTM Fieldhouse. Varsity match time is set for 6:00pm.
